The Vietnam War was a war fought between the United States and North Vietnamese. The United States pumped money and guns into South Vietnam to prevent a communist takeover in South Vietnam as a part of the United States containment strategy. The containment strategy was designed to help limit how far communism spread to neighboring Countries. The end result would be a war that would drag on for eight years.
